Bark or Bite?

I have had many furry and feathered friends in my life, even a couple scaly ones. They have been very dear parts of my family and the ones that have passed I still miss very much; especially my bird Zoe who I had for 9 years before she died in an accident and Solstice who hatched on the same day Zoe died and passed while laying her first brood from complications. I know a lot of people who don’t have pets don’t understand how an animal can really feel like part of the family, but for those who do here is a collection of gifts for the pets who make our lives a little better every day.

Let Them Eat Cake

Although there has never been any evidence that Marie Antoinette said “Let them eat cake” in response to the bread shortages caused by famine during her reign, the phrase and her image have been inseparable.  The saying first appeared in The Confessions of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, which was written when Marie was about 13 and only referred to a great princess as saying it, so I think if it wasn’t made up it must have been a predecessor. Either way the style of Antoinette and her husband’s court still holds a fascination and is the definition of lavishness.
